Getting to the airport from Reims
Five airports within three hours, four transport modes to compare, and one recurring question: where do you start? This practical guide synthesises everything you need to know to reach CDG, Orly, Beauvais, Brussels-Charleroi or Luxembourg-Findel without stress from Reims.
Why plan ahead
Leaving Reims for a long-haul flight, or conversely picking up a visitor landing at CDG, is not a trivial operation. Train-RER-metro connections with luggage cost time and comfort, metered taxis expose you to unpredictable rates, and using a personal car means dealing with long-stay parking. The question, then, is not “how much does it cost” but “how much peace of mind do I gain” — especially when traveling with a group, with children, or in business class.
Three elements structure a good transfer: predictability (rate set at booking), flexibility (adjustment to the actual flight, delay, advance, or missed connection), and physical ease (luggage, space, climate, quiet). The rest — brand of vehicle, language of the chauffeur, VIP welcome — falls into additional comfort, not the essentials.
Five airports accessible from Reims
The geography of Reims gives a rare advantage: the city sits within equal reach of several European airport hubs. Depending on your destination and the airline chosen, the optimal airport changes. Here is the mental map to keep.
Paris CDG — the long-haul hub
1 hr 30 min via the A4 motorway from Reims (150 km / 93 mi). All long-haul flights, all major airlines (Air France, Lufthansa, Emirates, ANA, JAL…). The default choice for an intercontinental trip or a Europe-Asia / Europe-Americas transit. See our Reims ↔ CDG transfer.
Paris Orly — European and low-cost premium flights
2 hr via the A4 + ring road (180 km / 112 mi). Air France hub for the Maghreb and Southern Europe, plus Transavia and Vueling. See our Reims ↔ Orly transfer.
Beauvais-Tillé — European low-cost
2 hr 15 min via the A29 then A1 (190 km / 118 mi). Ryanair, Wizz Air and Blue Air to Central European and Mediterranean capitals. Often unbeatable on ticket price, provided you factor in the transfer cost. See our Reims ↔ Beauvais transfer.
Brussels-Charleroi — the Belgian alternative
2 hr 15 min via the A34 then Belgian E420 (210 km / 130 mi). More efficient than Beauvais for Central Europe and the Balkans. Advantage: no customs stop (Schengen). See our Reims ↔ Brussels-Charleroi transfer. Note: Brussels-Zaventem (BRU), the main Brussels airport, is also available with a €60 (~$70 USD) surcharge.
Luxembourg-Findel — the business hub
2 hr 45 min via the A4 to Metz then A31 (210 km / 130 mi). Luxair hub for Europe and the Middle East. Preferred by business clientele (EU institutions, finance, consulting). See our Reims ↔ Luxembourg-Findel transfer.
Four transport modes to compare
Leaving Reims for an airport mobilises four main solutions. Each has its ideal use context.
TGV + RER / metro
The cheapest option (~€40 (~$45 USD) one-way to CDG), often the most stressful with luggage. Count 2 hr 45 min to 3 hr 30 min depending on the airport, 2 to 4 connections, and a generous safety margin in case of disruption on the line. Good option for a solo traveler, lightly packed, who knows the Paris transit system. Note: for CDG, the direct TGV from Champagne-Ardenne TGV (Bezannes) halves the connections but limits departure times.
Private chauffeur
Rate fixed at booking, pickup at your address, direct duration with no transfers, luggage handled by the chauffeur. The price gap with the train shrinks quickly from two passengers onwards, and becomes advantageous for groups or families. See our detailed Reims → Paris comparison.
Metered taxi
Immediate availability but unpredictable rate (between €250 (~$290 USD) and €450 (~$525 USD) for CDG depending on time, traffic and driver), not always able to handle a night flight or a delay. A fallback solution when caught off guard.
Personal car / rental
Maximum flexibility, but you have to deal with long-stay parking (count €100 (~$115 USD) to €200 (~$235 USD) for a week at CDG), tolls, and the fatigue risk before the flight. Relevant for trips under 48 hr without bulky luggage.

Three profiles, three priorities
The international business traveler
You land at CDG or Luxembourg-Findel for a meeting in Reims within 4 hours. Your priorities: punctuality, flight tracking, corporate billing, 4G connectivity on board, room to work or prepare. A private VTC with pre-confirmed rate and briefed chauffeur is largely the dominant choice; the only remaining decision is whether to activate the “flight tracking” option to automate pickup adjustment.
The wine tourist
You arrive at CDG for four days in Champagne. Your priorities: a multilingual chauffeur (our fleet speaks English and Japanese), pickup with luggage without any transfer, and ideally the option to add a cellar visit on the return to Reims or during a transit. This is the signature use case of the “transfer + cellar” service, unique on the Reims market.
The Reims resident
You take a flight from CDG, Orly or Beauvais. Your priorities: a reliable transfer from 4 am for a 6:30 am flight, a transparent rate known in advance, and the comfort of being dropped right at the correct terminal. The VTC advantage is sharp when the flight is early or when TGV+RER would erase the time gain.
When to book your transfer
2 to 4 weeks ahead
Ideal window to secure a transfer on a peak departure (Friday evening, Sunday evening, daytime flights to New York or Tokyo), especially in high season (April-October, school holidays, international trade shows). Rate confirmation comes within 2 hours.
72 to 48 hours ahead
Standard window for the vast majority of cases. Availability remains excellent and you can still fine-tune details (exact time, pickup point, options).
Same day
Possible without extra cost if the fleet is available — ask us, we confirm within the hour. For a flight leaving in less than 4 hours, prioritise a direct call to +33 6 51 49 90 81.
