You have just landed in Paris, and Champagne is waiting barely an hour and a half down the road. The real question is how to reach Reims and the vineyards without turning your arrival into an obstacle course, suitcases in hand.
This guide compares every option honestly, from each Paris airport, with real travel times, budgets, and the moment a private chauffeur makes all the difference. The goal: step off the plane and arrive straight at the door of your first cellar. Traveling the other way? See our guide on getting to the airport from Reims.
From the Paris airports into Champagne
In short
- Tight budget: the bus, or the TGV to Champagne-Ardenne station.
- Comfort and speed: a private chauffeur, door to door, at a fixed price known in advance (CDG from 230 EUR).
- Luggage, a group or a late flight: the private chauffeur, without question.
- Best airport: Paris-CDG, the only one linked to Champagne by a direct TGV.
Which airport for Champagne
Reims lies east of Paris, along the A4 motorway. The airport you land at changes a great deal how smooth the trip will be.
Paris-CDG
The best choice. About 145 km / 90 mi and 1 hr 30 by road, and the only airport with a direct TGV to Champagne-Ardenne station (around 30 min).
CDG ↔ Reims transfer · from 230 EUR
CDG ↔ Epernay transfer · from 240 EUR
Paris-Orly
South of Paris, handy for domestic and some long-haul flights. No direct train to Reims: count on about 1 hr 45 by road.
Orly ↔ Reims transfer · from 260 EUR
Beauvais
The low-cost gateway, north of Paris. Out of the way and without a practical rail link: the road is the only realistic option, about 1 hr 45 to 2 hr.
Beauvais ↔ Reims transfer · from 290 EUR
Le Bourget
The business-aviation and private-jet airport, the closest to the northeast of Paris: about 1 hr 15 to Reims.
Le Bourget ↔ Reims transfer · from 270 EUR
From Paris Charles de Gaulle
This is the airport best connected to Champagne, and the only one where the train truly comes into play.
By TGV. A few direct TGV trains a day link the airport station (CDG2 TGV) to Champagne-Ardenne station in about thirty minutes. One caveat: that station sits in Bezannes, around 8 km from central Reims, which you then reach by tram or taxi. Convenient if you travel light, more of a chore with suitcases.
By bus. Long-distance coaches (BlaBlaCar Bus, Flixbus) serve Reims from CDG for around twenty euros, but in 2 hr 25 to 3 hr depending on traffic and connections.
By taxi. A metered taxi from CDG usually runs 250 to 350 EUR, sometimes more at night, with no price guaranteed in advance and subject to availability.
By private chauffeur. A fixed fare, known before you leave, door to door from the airport to your hotel or straight to a cellar. Your driver meets you at baggage reclaim. Our flat rate for CDG is 230 EUR in a sedan (up to 3 people) or 340 EUR in a van, all terminals included, often less than a metered taxi. See the CDG ↔ Reims transfer.
From Paris-Orly
Orly has no direct rail link to Reims. By public transport you first have to reach Paris, then catch a TGV from Gare de l'Est, which adds up quickly with luggage.
By road, allow about 1 hr 45 depending on traffic around the Paris ring road. For an arrival with no transfers along the way, the private Orly ↔ Reims transfer (from 260 EUR) is the simplest: one vehicle, from the aircraft door to Champagne.
Beauvais, Le Bourget and neighbors
Beauvais. The low-cost carriers' gateway, but poorly served by rail. The road is the only realistic option, 1 hr 45 to 2 hr. From 290 EUR. See the Beauvais ↔ Reims transfer.
Le Bourget. For business aviation and private jets, this is the closest airport: about 1 hr 15 to Reims by private chauffeur, from 270 EUR.
From Belgium or Luxembourg. Some visitors arrive via Brussels-Charleroi or Luxembourg-Findel, around 2 hr by road. We cover both: Charleroi ↔ Reims (from 320 EUR) and Luxembourg ↔ Reims (from 380 EUR). For regional aviation, Châlons-Vatry airport is about fifty minutes away (from 120 EUR).
The four ways to make the trip
A typical example from Paris-CDG, to adapt to your airport. Prices are indicative for 2026.
| Mode | Door to door | Budget | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TGV + tram | ≈1 hr 45 (with connections) | ~40 to 70 EUR/person | Carry it yourself | Light traveler, low budget |
| Long-distance bus | 2 hr 25 to 3 hr | ~15 to 25 EUR/person | In the hold, fixed times | The cheapest |
| Taxi | ≈1 hr 30 | 250 to 350 EUR metered | Handled | A fallback, no fixed price |
| Private chauffeur | ≈1 hr 30 | Fixed fare, from 230 EUR (CDG) | Handled, door to door | Comfort, groups, luggage, late flights |
Why a private chauffeur on arrival
Met at the plane
Your chauffeur waits at baggage reclaim with a name sign and carries your bags to the car.
Flight tracking (option)
Real-time flight tracking is available as an option: we then time the pickup to your actual landing, late or early. Without it, just give us your expected landing time.
Fixed price, door to door
A fare known before you book, no meter and no surprises, from the airport to your hotel or your first cellar.
Built for groups
From a sedan to a Mercedes minibus seating up to 24, with the room you need for luggage.
No changes
One vehicle from start to finish, no train to catch and no connection to make with your suitcases.
Champagne right away
You can head straight to a first visit: your chauffeur knows the houses and the wine roads.
Preparing your arrival
Allow time to collect your bags and clear the airport before the pickup time: after a long-haul flight, a one-hour margin past landing is comfortable. Share your flight number and expected landing time when you book. Real-time tracking is available as an option (€35 (~$40 USD)): we then time the pickup to your actual landing.
If you land early in the day, you can easily move straight on to a visit that same afternoon. For an evening arrival, it is better to settle into the hotel and keep the tastings for the next day. Either way, book your transfer together with your visits, especially in high season (May to October).

Your questions about arriving in Champagne
Which airport is most convenient for Champagne?
Paris-Charles de Gaulle, without question: it is the only Paris airport linked to Champagne by a direct TGV (Champagne-Ardenne station in about 30 minutes), and it is only 1 hr 30 by road from Reims. Orly, Beauvais and Le Bourget mean driving.
Is there a direct train from CDG airport to Reims?
A few direct TGV trains a day link CDG to Champagne-Ardenne station in about thirty minutes. That station, however, is around 8 km from central Reims, reached afterward by tram or taxi. There is no direct train from Orly or Beauvais.
How much is a taxi from CDG to Reims?
A metered taxi generally costs between 250 and 350 EUR, more at night or peak hours, with no price guaranteed in advance. Our private-chauffeur flat rate for CDG is 230 EUR in a sedan or 340 EUR in a van, fixed and door to door, often cheaper than a metered taxi.
Can you meet us at the airport with our luggage?
Yes. The chauffeur waits at baggage reclaim with a name sign, takes your suitcases and drives you straight to your hotel or your first cellar. Capacity ranges from a sedan to a minibus seating up to 24.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Real-time flight tracking is available as an option: with it, we time the pickup to a late or early arrival. Without the option, allow a comfortable margin and tell us your landing time, and we agree on the meeting point together.
Can we visit a cellar on the day we arrive?
Yes, if you land in the morning or early afternoon. The chauffeur can take you straight to a first visit. For a late arrival, it is better to reach the hotel and start the tastings the next day.
