The visit begins in the courtyard, at the foot of the Dom Perignon statue, before descending into twenty-eight kilometers of galleries dug beneath the UNESCO-listed Avenue de Champagne. A friend of Jean-Remy Moet, Napoleon stayed here, and the house owes the name of its emblematic cuvee, the Imperial, and the Isabey-designed orangery in its formal garden to that connection.
